Built on Retrosheet
Every play here comes from Retrosheet, whose volunteers have spent decades collecting and checking baseball's play-by-play record and give it away free. That covers every AL and NL game since 1908 and every Negro League game whose play-by-play survives, though older seasons record less detail.
RetroPlaymaker is an independent fan project, not affiliated with Retrosheet. It wouldn't exist without the Retrosheet volunteers, and we're deeply grateful to them for keeping baseball's history open to everyone.

First time ever
How many multi-fielder outs happened for the very first time each season. Early seasons count high because so much was new when the records begin, and the very first season on record is left out. Tap a season to see its debuts.

Droughts
Outs that happened at least 10 times, ranked by how long it's been since the last one.
